How To Create A Facebook Business Page

Setting up a Facebook business page is easy. There are 1.79 billion active monthly users, can your business really afford not to be on the network?

A business page is not dissimilar to a personal Facebook profile, but it isn’t the same. If you are setting a Facebook account up for your business, then you will need to set up a Facebook Business Page. In order to set up a Facebook Business Page you will first need a personal Facebook account though, this is so you can administer your business page.

Creating Your Page

To set up your page visit Create a Page. You will then be asked what type of business you would like to set up, via the options below.

If you are trading from one location then select Local Business or Place, if you are trading from multiple locations then Company, Organisation or Institution will be the option you’ll need.

Your Details

You are going to need to set up a profile picture, cover photo, fill in the about section and secure your business Facebook URL.

Profile Picture

We suggest using your business logo as you want your business page to be recognised. Your profile picture will feature on your page, in the news feed of your followers, post’s on your pages timeline, replies in comments and on comments & posts you make on other pages. The suggested size for your profile picture is 180 x 180 pixels.

Cover Photo

This is your opportunity to show your brand off. You could use a great image of your dealership, or you can get creative and have an image made especially for your page. Your cover photo and profile picture are the first items anyone will see when they land on your page, so make sure you stand out from your competitors. You can change your cover at seasonal times, or sale times – keep it engaging.

About Section

You will need to fill in the about section in order to give people who visit your page information about your business. In the about section you can add your companies story, opening times, address, contact details, founded date, awards & mission statement. Fill out as much as you can and make sure your Facebook page matches any other platforms you are advertising on.

Set Your CTA (Call to Action)

You can also add a call to action just below your cover photo. Click the Edit Button option and select the option you would like to appear on your page. We suggest either the Learn More option and linking this to your website or the Call Now option and adding your companies phone number.

Adding Your Page To Your Favourites

Facebook has a Favourite section placed at the left of your News Feed or in the menu section on your mobile, where you can save your company page to so you can access it easily. Add your page to your favourites by selecting the More button on your page and choosing add to favourites.

Hide It Until It’s Ready

Until your page is set up you can hide your page from the public, by clicking on Settings, General and then Page verification where you can choose to unpublish your page until a time you are ready to launch it on Facebook.

Once you have completed the above your page will be ready to launch and gather some likes.
